Bulletin board
What do you want on the record?
The rest of this site is studies, models and agency schedules. This page is the part no study has written down: what flooding is like on your street, what you have been told over the years, and what you want answered. Anyone can read it. Anyone with an email address can post, with a six-digit code sent by email and no password, and can attach a photo. Your post goes up the moment you write it. Nothing waits for anybody's approval.

Before you post
Two things this board is
It is yours to take back. Edit or delete your post from any device you sign in on. Only the account that wrote it can change it. Signing in is an emailed six-digit code, with no password. An edited post is marked as edited, so anyone who replied can see it changed.
It is a record with dates on it. Every post shows the day and minute it was written. A dated account of water at a corner counts for more later than one remembered years on. A depth measured off your own photo, posted here with its date, is the strongest thing you can add.
House rules
Short, because there are only four
- Write about the flooding, and about Marin City. Anything else is off the board.
- Do not post other people's details. Your own street is yours to name. A neighbor's address, phone number or immigration status is not, whatever the argument is about.
- Disagree with what somebody said, not with who they are. This is a small place. Everyone on this board has to keep living here afterwards.
- Report anything that breaks the first three. The button is on every post, and you need no account to press it. Nothing is checked before it appears, so if nobody reports anything, the board has no moderation at all. Whoever wrote the post can still see it, marked, and a moderator has the last word. In the box, say what is wrong with the post: that sentence is what the moderator reads to decide. They are told whether the report came from somebody with an account or a reader without one, but not which neighbor. The person you reported is told neither.
Nothing is held back, and anyone can report. Your post is on the board as soon as you press the button. What keeps it decent afterwards is the Report button on every post. A report from somebody signed in takes the post off the board straight away and puts it in front of a moderator. One from a reader with no account leaves it up and asks a moderator to look. The difference is deliberate: a name or an address should not sit up all night, and one anonymous click should not be able to remove any post.
